The American Tract Society (ATS) is an evangelical organization that was founded in 1825 as the result of a merger between the New York Religious Tract Society (founded in 1812) and the New England Religious Tract Society (founded in 1814). Upon its founding, ATS became the first organization in the United States whose express mission was to hand out Christian tracts.
