Circa 1900. Dimensions 11 3/4 x 8 1/2 inches. Black ink, vignette of steam locomotive rolling through the countryside and decorative border. "Incorporated Under the Laws of Iowa" printed along top border and "Capital Stocks $852,000" along bottom. No. 186, not issued, no value, stamps or signatures. This railway began as the Fort Madison and North Western Railway in 1879, went into receivership in 1885, and was eventually reorganized as the Chicago, Fort Madison and Des Moines Railroad Company in 1899. At its height, this railroad ran from Fort Madison to Ottumwa, Iowa. It merged with the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad Company in 1901.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-As New.
