Original collection of six advertising brochures for the Coast Envelope and Leather Products Co. that each come with one tipped-in stamp on the front. Pamphlets come in a variety of sizes and colors. No date, circa 1930s. Sizes range between 6 1/4" x 5 1/2" and 5 1/2" x 8 1/2." Three of the brochures are folded in thirds vertically with text printed on four pages, excluding the front. The other three are folded in half vertically with text on three pages, excluding the front. All the stamps and brochures are very clean and intact. Four of the six brochures have a horizontal fold line at the center. All stamps are postmarked except for the one accompanying the brochure titled, "Significant Iceland." The following are the titles of each brochure with the color of the brochure in brackets: "Good Neighbors Dispute" [yellow], "The Teller of Tales" [beige and green], "The Rumanian Question Mark" [green], "Vijiravudh (Rama VI): Imperial Scout Master Extraordinary" [beige and sepia], "The Hand of St. Stephen" [beige and sepia], and "Significant Iceland" [white and turquoise]. Each brochure briefly describes the person or subject depicted on the stamp and related history. "Good Neighbors Dispute" has a red and white five-centavo stamp that relates to the Ecuadorian-Peruvian territorial dispute which lasted from 1821-1998. The stamp is from Ecuador and shows the country's boundaries including its claim of the territory being disputed with Peru. "The Teller of Tales" has an orange and white stamp from Denmark that commemorates the first edition of Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales. The stamp shows a mermaid, referencing Andersen's tale, The Little Mermaid. "The Rumanian [Romanian] Question Mark" has a purple and white stamp with a portrait of Carol II of Romania. The stamp is from Romania, and the text talks about recent political events in Romania and the role of Carol II as a political leader. "Vijiravudh [Vajiravudh] (Rama VI): Imperial Scout Master Extraordinary" has a sepia-colored stamp that commemorates Vajiravudh, or King Rama VI [typo; brochure lists him as Rama IV], with his portrait. The stamp is from Siam (now Thailand). The text talks about Rama VI and his founding of the National Scout Organization of Thailand (Boy Scouts) which now accepts boys and girls as members. "The Hand of St. Stephen" has a sepia-colored stamp that commemorates St. Stephen (also Stephen I) of Hungary. The stamp is from Hungary and shows an illustration of St. Stephen. "Significant Iceland" has a turquoise and white stamp with a fish that references Iceland's principal industry, fishing.
