A very good copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, a little chafed and nicked, lightly marked in places and with an area of surface abrasion to the front panel where the publisher's advertising sticker has been removed. A scholarly essay on Modernism, the result of Ackroyd's Yale University fellowship, written when he was just twenty-two years old and published whilst he was still literary editor of 'The Spectator'..
