Pages are very clean and intact overall but have age toning throughout and offsetting on front and back free endpapers. Covers are clean and intact overall but are fragile. Covers have browning, bumped corners, and chipping and a few small closed tears along edges and spine. A Very Good copy. A charming book about friendship. Composed entirely of philosophical quotes that define what friendship is, emphasize the importance of friendship, and give advice on how to be a good friend. Quotes are by noted authors, among whom are Henry David Thoreau, W. C. Gannett, Rabbi Hillel, George Macdonald, John Ruskin, George Eliot, E. E. Hale, and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Each quote is accompanied by stylized lettering and small floral decorative illustrations or decorative borders.
