Visually the exterior appearance is exceptional, and particularly internally, the book is also in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of its 40+ year-old.It is only the minor exterior fault described that prevents a slightly higher overall grading for the dw/dj. Despite that,it really is still an exceptional, exemplary example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of detracting faults. By defeating the French on 16th March England won the 1991 International Rugby Championship outright to become the leading European challengers for the 1991 World Cup.This success began when the English team beat Wales in Cardiff, and contined through to beating Scotland and Ireland to win the Triple Crown and ending with their victory over France to win the Grad Slam.
This book examines the development of English rugby since the war,the changes in the game since the first World Cup in 1987 and the captaincy of Will Carling - one of the youngest captains ever appointed - who lead a team featuring Brian Moore, Paul Ackford, Wade Dooley, Dean Richards, Hill, Andrew and Simon Hodgkinson.
