First Edition. Colonial issue, in the variant blue - grey cloth binding, spine ends sl. worn with very slight scarring to boards. This Colonial issue was simultaneous with the first normal trade issue, having the first issue point of 'David' instead of 'Saul' on p. 56 and the publisher's catalogue for July 1903. The Colonial issue appears to be far scarcer, as smaller quantities were allocated to such issues by publishers at that time.
