The map depicts North America shortly after the revolution with the different colonial divisions. Of interest is the fictitious large sea of the West to the North of Louisiana called Mer Ou Baye De L\'Ouest. The North-Western area of the US is almost entirely taken up by Louisina and the West is almost all New Mexico with the Navarra Desert indicated also.

The decorative and colourful cartouche on which the title is shown is that of a flat rock with palm trees and grapes surrounding it.
