Guerin, Jules : Monuments Of Egypt, 12 Color Illustrations

The Century Company, NY, 1908

Sized 6.5 x 9.5 inches, overall very clean and bright, with binder's holes noted along margins very near the edges, which would trim away neatly. Apparently removed from The Century Monthly Illustrated Magazine, which serialized the title, The Spell of Egypt, by Robert Hichens, over 6 issues in 1908, including the present color plates, and published the book in 1911, curiously, without color plates. Monuments include the Court of Amenhotep III, and the Great Colonnade, both at the Temple of Luxor, the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Medinet Abu, the Temple of Deir El Bahari, the Ramesseum at Thebes, the Temple of Kom Ombos, moonrise over the Great Pylon of Edfu, the Court in the Temple of Edfu, Pharaoh's Bed, Philae, the Island of Philae, and the Great Rock Temple of Abu Simbel. Very scarce.. Illustr.: Jules Guerin. Print. Book Condition: VG. Binding: No Binding
