Following his successful book chronicling the work of the families who held together the 13,000-acre Hill Country ranch first worked by Alfred Giles in 1855, David K. Langford has created another visual tribute to his home place in Fog at Hillingdon. While fog does not come easily or frequently to this part of Central Texas, when it does, it inspires moments of quiet and reflection, captured here in stirring images taken of the comings and goings of fog on Hillingdon ranches. These photographs in turn inspired an introduction by writer Rick Bass that takes him back to his own memories of fog - in the Hill Country and elsewhere. Fog at Hillingdon includes a note by Langford on the photography techniques and equipment he used, and many photographs are accompanied by apt historic or contemporary quotations that reflect the moods and sentiments fog often evokes..
