Includes former owner's markings in pencil, most, if not all, of which pertain to keeping time. Pencil notations, presumably by the same owner, appear in the margins and on other pages without fill-in tables. Pages and covers are clean and intact overall. Pages are age-toned. Covers are slightly soiled and moderately darkened. Binding is tight. A Very Good copy. Original train service time book. Each page with time tables is filled in with pencil. Tables are filled in for each month of 1939. The following fields are filled in for each month: "Day," "Engine No.," "Train No.," "Amount," and "Eng'r. Cond'r etc." The following tables are printed in back: "Table Showing Time After Which Overtime Accrues on Runs of 100 to 199 Miles in Length on Speed Basis of 12 1/2 Miles per Hour," "Table Showing Time and One-half for Overtime in Local, Freight, Switcher and Helper Service (18 3/4 Miles per hour)," and "Speed Table." Inside of back cover has calendars for 1937-1939. Promotional printed text appears throughout the publication for the Continental Casualty Company. The name of the local representative for the Continental Casualty Company, "Joe. T. Keenan," is stamped on back cover, as well as his address, "P.O. Box-4382, Portland, Ore.". Book.
