UK,8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn.VG/VG-.Owner name+ contempraneous date to lightly,sporadically foxed/spotted front free endpaper,but no price-clip to dw/dj.Bright,glossy,laminated,b/w photographic front panel of dw/dj by Tom Hustler,with an approx. 2" wide horizontal white band across top edge and spine with an horizontal dividing black line with capitalised, red-lettered author name to top band and black-lettered title to lower band of front panel; black remainder of spine/backstrip with capitalised,black-lettered author name in its white band and other white-lettered title and publisher's capitalised,white lettered colophon/initials to foot of same,white background to rear panel with author's contemporary b/w portrait photograph by  Werner J. Kuhn.Some shelf-wear, bumping,creasing to edges and rubbing/chipping with miniscule loss to 3 corner tips,small splits at both head+foot of spine/backstrip's both gutter's folds/creases - no other major tears or splits present.Front panel of dw/dj with a production fault of an internal crease under the laminate,causing the laminate to bubble,crack and peel with minimal loss of same at the middle of the gutter's external front's fold/crease.Dw/dj inner flaps both with minimal,sporadic foxing spotting and causing off-setting and light foxing to respective facinge free endpapers.Top edges lightly toned/aged with sporadic dust-flecking spots,fore-edges slightly brighter with less foxing/spotting; contents tight,generally clean and solid - some sporadic foxing spots to page edges - but no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips,else appears unread apart from my own collation.Publisher's bright,crisp, clean,sharp-cornered,original plain blue cloth boards with a red ink square panel and author name in blue within and bright,crisp,blocked gilt lettered title+publisher's initials to spine/ backstrip and aforementioned lightly foxed+offset affected plain white endpapers.UK, 8vo HB+dw/dj,1st edn,7-287pp [paginated] includes 26 chapters; plus [unpaginated] half-title with synopsis and author's previous 2 titles listed to its reverse,a title page,a dedication with a blank reverse - these latter 3 pages all with sporadic foxing - as are the page edges' of the first few chapters (pp7-46.        Author's third book and a sequel to "Room at the Top". In 'Room at the Top', Joe Lampton's escape from his working-class background through his seduction of, and marriage to, the daughter of a wealthy mill owner had been portrayed. Adapted into an Oscar-winning film (1959).
