Black and white drawing by the famed science fiction and fantasy illustrator Hannes Bok. Bok's color cover art and black and white interior drawings appeared in many science fiction and fantasy magazines of the 1940s and 1950s, among them Weird Tales, the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Famous Fantastic Mysteries, and many others. This drawing appears to be a photostat used to produce printing plates. It illustrated "The Counter-Charm," story by Margaret St. Clair that appeared in the August 1949 issue of Famous Fantastic Mysteries, p. 111. Handwritten at bottom: "The Counter-charm"--M. St. Clair.
