Vol. I, No.3 issue of Back to the Farm, a newspaper dedicated to farming and agriculture. Contains a variety of articles, most of which are relatively brief (about one to a few paragraphs) and appear to double as promotional material encouraging settlement and farming in Sacramento Valley. The front-page articles are about the Sacramento Valley. One of the articles on the front page describes the many farms available in the Sacramento Valley at a cheap cost. This article includes an anecdote by a new resident, Mrs. R. Thompson, originally from Chicago, who praises the residents of Willows in Glenn County ("cordial, and although everybody is busy, ... they do not rush around as in Chicago") and general environment and infrastructure of Willows. Another front-page article features a man, W. F. Burt, who won prize money for having the "best developed farm in the valley," and says that he supports himself and his family comfortably. Also noted on front are the Sacramento Valley's plentiful almond and sugar beet crops and "healthful climate." The following are some of the subjects addressed on the two inside pages: Colusa oranges, hog-raising, raising poultry and cultivating fruit on one farm, alfalfa, and peach cultivation. The following are some of the subjects discussed on the last page (back): importance of good irrigation and drainage, fertile soil in Sacramento Valley, growing hops, Colusa County petroleum, and request for more poultry growers..
