The English-language issue of the first edition. Large 4to. 777pp. Yellow cloth lettered and ruled in blue at the spine and upper board with an in-set photograph. Lavishly illustrated throughout, in colour where required, and including several folding plates. The binding a little pulled at the head of the backstrip, a result of the sheer heft of the text block, otherwise in fine state. No dust wrapper called for. A vast catalogue raisonné of seven decades of Wróblewski exhibitions, with critical essays contributed by various hands. Wróblewski, a Polish figurative painter, died in a mountaineering accident in 1957 when he was only 29, and is today recognized as one of Poland's most prominent artists in the early post WWII era.
