A very good, clean example in early eighteenth-century mottled calf, gilt-ruled with fully gilt spine and contrasting olive and red labels including armorial badge (a swan emerging from a coronet); skillfully rebacked, with orginal spine laid down. Ecclesiastical bookplate.
Henri Estienne’s last major work, the only text issued from his press in that year. The Latin translation is Wolf’s, revised by Estienne, who also contributed the seven Diatribae, or Dissertations, on the great Athenian orator., Schreiber 224; Renouard 155, 1.
