WALLACE, Edgar. THE FOUR JUST MEN. London: The Tallis Press, 1905. First edition. Folding frontispiece and a numbered "Solution Competition" entry leaf at the end. 224 pp. 8vo., yellow cloth, printed in black to spine and upper board. Frontispiece is quite creased, having a closed tear at the center, and offset from a paper clip at the top-edge. Text leaves are lightly age-browned, with moderate foxing to half-title and title-page, and along the fore-edge of the bookblock. Hinges are starting. Binding is sunned at spine, very worn at crown, and moderately soiled overall, with a small stain at lower board. Nonetheless, this is a relatively nice copy of one of Wallace's best known stories.
