[MIMEOGRAPH/STENCIL ART] Wakayama Yasoji, artist. TENSAI NO MATSURI. Tokyo, Seienso. Showa 40 [1965]. Number 6 of 85 of 150cc. [special edition], signed by Wakayama. Western-bound volume of "fables for adults", illustrated by Wakayama in his own technique of stencil art, named kohan. 24.7 x 19 cm. There is an interesting ko^han pattern on the covers, enclosed in a cloth covered box and outer shipping box. The fine art printmaking technique of kohan was developed in 1941 by Wakayama [1903- 83], a close associate of Onchi Koshiro. He was an enormously prolific single sheet printmaker using color woodblock and kohan, but this charming little volume is one of his scarce and wonderful artist' books.
