Visually, the external appearance is more than acceptable, and particularly internally is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of it’s 40+ year-old age.It is only the faults described that prevent a slightly higher grade overall. Despite that,it really is still an acceptable example for it’s brightnesss, cleanliness and lack of other/age acquired detracting faults usually encountered in a book of this age.
Twenty years ago two friends had come to the woods of Northern Vermont to learn the secrets of magic from a master magician. Tom Flannagan had come to protect his friend, but he was found to have such powers and talent for evil, that he was the natural heir to Shadow Land (the rural domain of the magician). Tom was reluctant to use the skills he was acquiring, but to survive he would eithier have to sacrifice friendship or challenge his master,in a magical battle to the death.
