This is a collection of essays written from exile, sardonically and vehemently critiquing german society and nazism. The author, Heinrich Mann (1871-1950) , the elder brother of Thomas Mann, was 62 years old when he was ejected after the nazi power transfer at the Berlin Academy of Arts and forced into exile. Front cover loose but tape-repaired. The rear cover showd ads for 1933 publications by Alfred Doeblin. Lion Feuchtwanger, Joseph Roth, Arnold Zweig and other prominent German authors that were published in exile.. Book Condition: Very Good
