Described hard but fairly and honestly - very minor faults, and still a presentable collecor's item.
Although listed as the author's first novel,at his request and insistence to his publisher,it was preceded by his true first novel 'Sometime Never' [1948/US and 1949/UK].That title never sold well. The novel stars Uncle Oswald,a character from 'The Oswald Diaries' who previously, briefly appeared in 'The Visitor' describing an act of coitus between him and a female leper in the Sinai Desert, and another later reappearance in the story 'Bitch',two short stories also written by Roald Dahl (both of which were published in 'Switch Bitch'.)
In his third appearance in this novel - racy tale of serial seduction, Uncle Oswald makes a fortune by stealing and selling the semen of famous men, among them are Freud, proust, Puccini, Shaw, Renoir, Pablo Picasso, James Joyce, and Alfonso XIII of Spain, not to mention just about every crowned head in Europe.Dahl's [first-ever] novel is the funniest romp in years.
