Buy this book on-line Caplan, Samuel (editor and compiler) : Children's Rosh Hashanah AnnualAnnual Publishers, Johannesburg, 1947
94 pages (complete). The first annual of its kind to be published in South Africa. A foreword from Sarah Gertrude Millin who wrote movingly about the need for stories that strengthen and protect a child - especially the Jewish child : "For the Jewish child faces what another child does not. Any day it may happen that he looks into the eyes of a non-Jewish child and sees there something to disturb him; or hears a word spoken, or finds it in print, from which grows a lifelong fear." And thus she commends the contents of the annual to such a child. The blue cover is sturdy and tough. There is wear about all corners, edges and seams. The faces of the covers are marked from handling and storage. There is a tendency of the front cover to lift upwards. The pages within are clear, decisive, devoted, eager, sure, sometimes marked always assuring. fk. Book Condition: Fair. Binding: Hardcover.
