Lehmann, Lotte : Original Photograph "Lotte Lehman"

circa.1930s. Original Photograph by Steve Crouch (Carmel, Ca) - 8 x 10, black & white photo. Lotte Lehmann (1888-1976) was a German operatic singer who performed with civic operas companies in Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, etc. While in Europe she encouraged the Trapp Family Singers to perform, and moved to the United States in 1938. She performed on 500 recordings of operatic music. Appeared on the cover to TIME (18 February 1935) and has a star (name misspelled) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Lottie Lehmann Foundation was named after her and was founded in 1995 to encourage the public's exposure to opera music. In the photograph Ms Lehmann is standing with Noel Sullivan (a San Francisco patron of the arts) and both are admiring a religious painting. Fine clean copy.. Book. Book Condition: Collectible-Fine.
