First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 237pp. Red boards lettered in gold at the spine. Top edge spotted and with a little further light spotting to the fore edge, free endpapers and pastedowns. A trace of partial browning to one preliminary leaf, and a sliver of discolouration of the cloth at the head of the backstrip where the dust wrapper defective. A very good copy in the handsome non-price-clipped pictorial dust wrapper designed by Stein, with some fading to the publisher's red spine panel colouring and a little further fading to the margins of the front panel, and with some unsightly splashes of staining to the rear panel, and some nicking with several tiny fractions of loss from the had of the spine panel.
