Binding is tight. Dust wrapper has some edge wear and wear at the corners and the head and tail of the spine. A closed tear measuring about 1" is at the top of the back panel. A historical fiction set against the backdrop of the Indo-Paskistani War of 1947-1948, or the First Kashmir War. The war was fought between India and Pakistan over the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. The war ended upon a mutual cease-fire agreement, but the war and its outcome still affect the geopolitics of India and Pakistan to this day. The story is about two Catholic priests who take in refugees from different backgrounds during the war.
