This is a self-published autobiography of William "Bill" Murray Werber (June 20, 1908 - January 22, 2009), who played third base with Major League Baseball teams New York Yankees, Boston Red Socks, Philadelphia Athletics, Cincinnati Reds, and New York Giants. He was a leading third baseman, a strong base runner, and an all-around top player. He details his boyhood in Maryland, his experience at college (Duke University), the MLB teams he played for (and the personalities, characteristics, and habits of his teammates), his defense of the Reserve Clause, and much more. This is wonderful book for anyone who enjoys big league baseball and wants to know more about a man who loved playing the game. Vintage.
