Publisher's original orange cloth boards with black ink printed letters and vignette illustration(s) to both front and spine/backstrip,all corners lightly bumped,boards generally clean with inevitable slight grubbing,marks and wear,with unmarked,pale green with horizontally white-striped endpapers; with negligible shelf-wear or creasing to edges and corners - no nicks or tears present. Production fault(?) of board crease and concomitant creasing/wrinkling of pastedown to front board's fore-edge,rear board and pastedown with similar creasing and concomitant wrinkling to,more or less, their centre.Both head+foot of spine minimally bumped with reciprocal creasing and slightly darkened overall - as usual/ normal - blocked lettering and illustration (African native's shield+ spears) lightly affected by fading,but Edgar Wallace facsimile signature to front bd bright and crisp and unaffected.Top edges ubiquitously dust-soiled and toned, fore-edges also toned and deckled (untrimmed); contents generally bright, tight,clean,solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners, appears unread - apart from my own collation.US,8vo HB minus dw/dj,1st edn,9- 320pp [paginated] includes 10(X) chapters, plus [unpaginated] half-title+title pages, a dedication and contents list/table.
