Pages are clean and intact overall except for a few wrinkles, slight rippling, remnants of former binding along spine, occasional offsetting, and light to moderate foxing and staining throughout (text still readable). A Very Good copy. A Christian tract in defense of the Holy Bible and Christian faith. According to a brief caption at the bottom on front, all of the people described within this tract were real, and the tract contains an argument a pastor used in defense of Christian faith at the death bed of a Prodigal Son and for family members. Authored by William Craig Brownlee (1784-1860), an American clergyman, writer, and professor of languages. Tract No. 227 of the American Tract Society. The American Tract Society (ATS) is an evangelical organization that was founded in 1825 as the result of a merger between the New York Religious Tract Society (founded in 1812) and the New England Religious Tract Society (founded in 1814). Upon its founding, ATS became the first organization in the United States whose express mission was to hand out Christian tracts.
