Using a large 8¾ x 7¾ inch 'Missionary Journal' with pre-printed template pages, issued from Salt Lake City by an extension of the Mormon Church, this book records in intimate detail this earnest young man's desire to serve his Church in outreach, his excitement of the endeavour and in striking detail the year of his service as he does an exemplary job keeping this book up as a diary - he does leave a number of the introductory pre-printed form pages empty. From Rome in 1986 he records everything that occurs through December 31st 1986 over some 300+ pages. Historians and researchers of the contemporary Missionary experience, especially from a 'boot camp' perspective would be hard pressed to find a more expressive, enthusiastic young man who is a super diarist.
