Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) was an American author, naturalist, abolitionist, and philosopher. Thoreau is best-known for his poems and essays. Many of his writings interweave themes of nature and philosophy. This book contains reprints of Thoreau's correspondence with the titular "various persons."
