and loss to edges and corners - 99.9% complete. Minimal laminate bubbling to upper wrap; vertical crease/wrinkle in laminate,to rear wrap's outer edge - some minimal loss to bottom corners+foot of spine/backstrip - with two small closed tears to top edges (one each to front+
rear).Top+fore-edges lightly aged/toned - as usual/normal; contents bright,tight and clean though.Generally clean,red cloth boards with bright,black ink blocked letters to spine/ backstrip and pictorial b/w+pink+red illustrated endpapers.UK,Qrto HB+dw/dj,1st edn,48pp [unpaginated] includes 4 colour block (red+pink+ b/w] illus frntis,similar illustrated title page,12 double-page illustrations includes 2pp Plaza hotel floor plan,profuse 4 colour block illustrations to other pages,all illustrated by Hilary Knight and text in verse.[Knight broke new ground in illustration by scattering each page with his drawings - rather than conforming to the one-picture-a-page storytelling technique then used,and in this book too,the text appears in verse form for the first time.] All UK Eloise editions which appeared several months after the American equivalents,are identical in format, apart from 'Eloise in Moscow' where the cover was changed,along with some minor textual differences.
'Eloise At Christmastime',due to a significantly smaller print-run,is the scarcest title and edition [UK],and the more desirable and sought after,than the Randon House US edition.Though this book has been described hard,it is a fair and honest appraisal - it really is better than it sounds!! The BEST,most complete and least damaged,of any of the duplicate titles handled by myself!
