A Very Good copy. Program for a performance by Evan Williams and pianist Vernon Williams. While not explicitly named, the Evan Williams on this program is likely Harry Evan Williams (1867-1918), an American oratorio tenor. Evan had a successful career and gave over 1,000 performances across the United States and in England and Wales. Critic lauded his interpretations of Handel; this program begins with three songs by Handel. Evan had four children, one of whom was a son named Vernon Williams (1889-1945). Program is very clean and intact except for slight age toning and wrinkling and a light pencil inscription in top margin on front. A Very Good copy. Program for a performance by the Zoellner String Quartet. Joseph Zoellner, Sr. founded the quartet in 1903 or 1904. The three remaining members were Joseph, Sr.'s children, Antoinette, Amandus, and Joseph, Jr. The group gained international acclaim over the years and played throughout the United States as well as Canada and Europe. The quartet was also notable for including Antoinette at First Violin; she was likely among the first women to be seated at First Violin in a professional ensemble. The Zoellner Quartet officially retired in 1925, but its members continued to play informally. Joseph, Jr. also founded a new Zoellner quartet with unrelated musicians around 1938, and this new group played at least through the 1950s.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
