Original billhead printed in blue ink on light beige paper with handwritten portions in black ink. Datelined September 20, 1900 in Sacramento, California. 8 1/2" x 9 1/4." Billhead is very clean and intact except for a few small wrinkles, slight age toning, a few horizontal and vertical fold lines, a few closed tears at the edges along the fold lines (with the largest measuring 1"), and a paper stub tipped in on back right edge. A Very Good copy. An original billhead from the A. S. Hopkins Company to F. (Frank) Kunsting of Franklin, California. Kunsting purchased about thirteen line items. Among the purchased items are "Corks," "Bicycle Cards," "Lion Bog [?]," "Warwick Tablets [or Table]," "Ina Mersham Piper," and "Manila." The printed header reads, "Bought of The A. S. Hopkins Co., Importers and Dealers in Woodenware, Baskets, Brushes, Stationery, Paper Bags, Twines, Axe and Pick Handles, Tacks, Matches, Dairy Supplies, Notions, Etc., 309 to 313 J. Street Bet. Third and Fourth." Some of the company's other items are listed as follows: "Indurated Fibre Ware, Excelsior and California step Ladders, Flasks and Demijohns, School Supplies and Blank Books, Fishing Tackle, Pipes and Buggy Whips, Wrapping Paper." The A. S. Hopkins Company was established in 1868, as noted by the billhead. Please note: there is a printed caption at top that reads, "We Manufacture Brooms by White Labor.". Ephemera.
