UK,Qrto illustrated, monthly magazine,1st thus.[Training Corps Air Gazette magazine, believed to have begun its monthly publishing,a year earlier, from January 1941.] VG++.No owner inscrptn and no price removal from cover.Bright,crisp,sharp-cornered clean, colour illustrations/ paintings of a pair of RAF wartime aircraft to each of the front+rear paper covers (Short Sterling and Short Sunderland; A Catalina and the Short Stirling) respectively, rusted staples; with negligible shelf-wear,bumping, rubbing, creasing - no major nicks, tears or splits present.Top+fore-edges ubiquitously aged/toned; contents bright, tight, clean, solid and sound - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners - appears unread, apart from my own collation.UK,slim Qrto wraps, illustrated, monthly magazine, 1st thus,4-26pp [paginated] includes profuse contemporary b/w photographs,b/w illustrations, diagrams, drawings etc.along with assorted articles, stories, etc. all pertaining to the British and American Air Corps. The diagrams include the inside and outside mechanics of the various aircraft, how they work, how to repair and maintain. The photographs show every plane imaginable, either in the air or on the ground. An authoritative source of information for all those interested in the aircraft used during WWII and of the men who flew them. This particular issue has an article by W.E. Johns entitled 'It Can Be Done' - story of self-taught pilots who learned to fly various 'planes without official sanction or training. An early and uncommon example - particularly in as good a grade as this, given it's period of production,i.e. 1941/2 - with wartime paper-rationing,and the poor quality of cheap paper stock generally used and survival rates of air-raids on domestic and commercial properties i.e publishers+printers. With war-time paper rationing and conservation of that and other materials, pulping was actively encouraged,so publishers with restricted and limited quantities for publishing, opted towards highly acidic and therefore cheaper paper, allowing for more items to be produced. Those made with this cheaper material tended to degrade faster, exhibiting several faults, blemishes, foxing/spotting etc.,and subsequently are uncommon and harder to find in a particularly fine condition.
