STEPHEN LEACOCK : Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town. With a colour frontispiece by Cyrus Cuneo

John Lane, The Bodley Head, London, 1912

First Edition (first printing). 8vo. xii, 264pp. Probably a library binding of green cloth lettered and ruled in gold at the spine and with the advertisement leaves excised. Just a hint of wear to the cloth extremities, a little browning to the free endpapers and a little occasional marginal blemishing here and there. Former owner name inked to the front free endpaper, and a tiny W.H.Smith Library plate to the base of the rear pastedown, but no other indications of institutional ownership (this unrecorded green cloth binding aside). A very good copy. A classic of Canadian humour: twelve stories set in the fictional town of Mariposa, expanded from a sequence of short literary pieces originally serialised in the 'Montreal Daily Star' between February-June 1912.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover
