Original letter handwritten in pencil on a beige paper postcard. Signed in pencil as "Dan." Letter is dated June 26, 1918. Postmarked June 27, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland. 3 1/4" x 5 1/2." One page. Postcard is very clean and intact except for age toning and a few smudges (mostly on side with address). A Very Good copy. On this postcard, an American soldier, Dan, writes to his sister, "Miss C. Shay," at 50 Union St., Meriden, Connecticut. The following comprises most of his letter to his sister: "Just got the news that there would be no more letters sent out of here after tonight and not to have any visitors Sun. We are going out of here but don't know where. Don't send anymore letters until you hear from me.". Manuscript. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: No Binding
