This is a 1914 directory listing the names of residents and businesses in the city of Sacramento, California. Names are organized alphabetically. The directory is replete with advertisements promoting local businesses. Tabs for the sections of "Western Pacific," "Coal," and "House Guide" are visible along the fore-edge. Special section in the front titled, "Sacramento's Leading Japanese Business Men," which lists the addresses and contact information of businesses owned by Japanese Americans. Examples of businesses advertised: "Peoples Saving Bank, The Okita Company, Panama Pacific Restaurant, Capital Fish Co., Cascade Laundry, and S. H Gilbert Co. The House Guide lists addresses with residents' names or if the house is vacant. Printed text on Page 16: "The present volume contains by actual count 30,241 names, exclusive of married women, single girls who have no occupation, and children, and also Japanese and Chinese, an increase of 1,630 names over the preceding edition.
