"Jewish by birth and a theosophist by conviction, Ritch was one of Gandhi's closest political lieutenants after 1903 and one of his most devoted followers." (Swann, M. 1985:138 Gandhi: The South African Experience). Ritch went on to become the first secretary of the South African British Indian Committee, and was its most active member between 1906 and 1911. Book has some foxing.
