48 photographs, in the original red leather album, lacking spine. Each photograph is mounted on a single leaf, and measures 200 x 150mm. These are probably by Gray Brothers, but none of them appear to be signed. Most are captioned in the plate, and depict various aspects of the surface workings, the original De Beers mine and its surrounds. Of particular interest are the group of images showing the native workers, their dances and living quarters. Some fading of the images, but in general a collection of crisp images.
