A very good copy indeed newly rebacked in period style brown morocco, raised bands, gilt fleuron centre each panel, toned matching marbled boards. Text clean, with the folding tables in very good state. Rffectively a new work, although based on the same author's Dictionary of 1795. The Appendix contains a reprint in the same year (1808) as its publication in the 'Philosophical Transactions' of Davy's famous second Bakerian Lecture read before the Royal Society on Nov. 19, 1807. This classic paper takes in Davy's discovery of sodium and potassium, and the chemical aspects of alkalis and electricity.
