A fine copy in the original cloth spined printed pale orange thin card wrappers as issued. Sold together with a signed (in monogram) carbon copy of a letter dated 6th January 1977 from Charles Simkins to the Minister of Justice objecting to his arbitrary banning by the Natioanlist Apartheid government, thereby depriving him of all civil liberties including his right to work as an academic economist. Simkins oversaw the research containing in this report, and is acknowledged in the final paragraph of the foreword "We take this opportunity of thanking Charles Simkins for the extremely valuable part he played in providing supervision and overall direction for the research prior to his banning on the 18th November this year. The assistance he rendered to Siphiwe and Sandile is but one example of the numerous ways in which he has placed himself at the service of the Black community, and we wish to record our strong protest at his arbitrary bannin g for a period of five years".
