In 1989,editor Peter Darvill-Evans finally gained permission from the BBC to develop a range of original novels featuring the 7th Doctor and his companion ACE.
These were launched in 1991 to much acclaim,and carried on until the BBC opted not to renew their licence in 1996.The initial editor was Peter Darvill-Evans and he was joined by Rebecca Levene who eventually took over editing the range (around the release of 'Tragedy Day'), while assistant Simon Winstone joined towards the end of the range's life.
