The scarce original edition of Kropf's important work. Pahl (1989: The Greater Dictionary of Xhosa xxxviii) regards Albert Kropf, as "the first lexicographer to have fathomed and thoroughly mastered the intricacies of Xhosa phonology ... so thorough and accurate that little fault can be found with it".
