On offer is an absolutely sensational scrapbook and journal of a post-World War I contractual operation to remove and dispose of deteriorated ammunition in 1927 at the Curtis Bay Ordnance Depot and the Raritan Arsenal. This very thick, heavy 11½ x 10 x 3 inch three ring binder details the project from the initial contract, rules and regulations, weather summary, accidents, visitors, data and other statistics of what was done each day over hundreds of typed pages. Project start was Feb. 27th 1927, and finished up July 20th 1928 overseen by Major Traeger with the book having been compiled by Kenneth E. Cross outlining exactly what was involved with the disposal of all sorts of shells, mortars, primers, fuses, and explosives. This was project of the Delaware Steel and Ordnance Company, the text includes 84 original photographs, some hand written notes, numerous plans and blueprints. Overall VG.
