Letter written in ink on 4 3/4" x 8" paper. Dated July 12, 1911. The letter was handwritten by Jerome's secretary but signed by Jermone. "Station, Marlow, G.W.R. 2 Miles. Telegrams, 'Jerome Monks Corner, Marlow." printed in red ink in top-left corner. "Monks Corner, Marlow Common, Bucks." printed in red ink in the top-right corner. Jerome K. Jerome (1859-1927) was an English humorist, playwright, and novelist based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England. He was the founder of The Idler, a magazine that ran from 1892-1911. His best-known book is Three Men in a Boat (1889). In this short letter to Mr. W. H. Rideing (editor of The Youth's Companion, a children's magazine), Jerome thanks Rideing for a note but also tells him he cannot take on any new work at present.. Manuscript.
