the jacket is shelf rubbed and a little worn. there is a small piece cut out at the top of the spine, and a few other small tears.the front end page has been glued down so the book starts on the half title page. the book has no inscriptions but there are signs of handling. some of the pages have small smudge marks and very light creasing.the boards also have a few small marks. the binding is excellent.. the jacket has few closed tears on the edges and is tape repaired at the top of the spine and the back flap of the jacket.the back flap has been trimmed and is torn. the title page is marked and there are tape residue marks on the front-end page and the back-end page. it is edge worn with a couple of creases. the book has a scar where a bookplate appear to have been removed.these are not overly obtrusive.internally it is clean. there's a previous owner's inscription and the binding is excellent..
