Occasional pencil markings in the margins. Heister's last book, with over 600 cases. Lorenz Heister (1683-1758) was a surgeon, botanist and anatomist. 'In 1718, Heister is credited for coining the word "tracheotomy", and was the first physician to study the pathology of appendicitis.
