Black full leather binding with yellow lettering on front cover. No lettering on spine. Boards are semi-flexible. Leaves are made of black paper. Photographs are inserted into pre-cut slots on the pages. No date, circa 1912-1940s (at least one photo has a captioned date of 1940). Most of the photographs are c. 1912-1920s. Album: 14 1/2" x 10 1/4." Photo size varies between about 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and 5 1/2" x 3 1/2." Unpaginated, ten leaves have at least one side with photos. 100 black-and-white photos. Some of the photos are cropped or take the form of cut-outs that were once part of a larger frame. Pages are very clean and intact except for slight fading and minimal wear to extremities. Covers are very clean and intact except for light rubbing and a few wrinkles. Photos are very clean and intact except for light age toning and a few small wrinkles. A Very Good, almost Near Fine copy. An original photo album kept by or for Audrey Hawkey (1905-?), the daughter of Bert Hawkey (1870-?) and Agnes B. Hawkey (1874-?). The Hawkeys were originally from Ohio. In California, Bert and Agnes ran a confectionery store. Their other daughter, Naomi Hawkey (1896-?) became a school teacher. The photos show the family's life around Alta Loma, California and Audrey's classmates. Many of the photos also show the earlier years of the Hawkeys' lives in Ohio and their visits to relatives in Nebraska. Most of the photos are portraits which presumably show members of the Hawkey family and their acquaintances.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Soft cover
