A very good copy in the original dark red morocco, roughly but effectively rebacked in red buckram, front internal hinge and first plate hinged using same material. Some corners of the mounts chipped and worn as is often the case due to the acid nature of the mounts, the photographs in fine intact state. This copy has 106 photographs of Transvaal towns: Middelburg and Klerksdorp. A superb photographic record of South Africa at the time, by far the most detailed and impressive.
