Goudy died May 11, 1947 and she further states: "This sentimental remembrance of Frederic Goudy first appeared in the Summer 1950 issue of the Book Club of California Quarterly News Letter. It was written after Goudy's death by a person who then preferred to remain anonymous. Now, 38 years later and 13 years after the death of Colonel Carrol Harris, I feel he would have no objection to my using his memory of Goudy as my keepsake for the joint meeting in San Francisco of the Zamorano and Roxburghe members, October, 1988".
